On June 19th, the Chinese Embassy in Ireland, in collaboration with the Irish Examiner, published a special issue to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ireland. The special edition featured interviews with 25 distinguished individuals from the political, business, and academic communities of both countries.
Among those interviewed were four faculty members from our center—Professors Chen Li and Wang Zhanpeng, as well as Zhang Fang and Zhang Junhan—along with our visiting professor, Jerusha McCormack. In their interviews, they discussed the founding of our university’s Irish Studies Center, the development of academic exchanges, the beginnings of Irish language education, their respective research interests, and their perspectives on the cultural ties between China and Ireland. All expressed optimism about the future of cooperation and development between the two countries.
