On November 10, 2015, the Irish Studies Centre of SEIS, BFSU invited Dr. Lynda Mulvin, head of School of Art History and Cultural Policy of the University College Dublin, and Professor Bernd Nicolai, director of the Institute of Art History in the University of Bern, to give a speech on “Ireland’s Great Cultural Treasures”

The speech started with the development of art and architecture during the early medieval period and then focused on the analysis of major Irish cultural treasures. Dr.Mulvin displayed a series of beautiful pictures including those of Newgrange, precious metal work, manuscripts and high crosses in Ireland before expounding on their cultural implications.

At the end of the speech, students from the Irish Studies Center interacted actively with the two speakers. The lecture greatly helped the audience to grasp a deeper understanding of the profound Irish culture.
