On 31st March, Professor Vincent Comerford, a professor of Irish history at National University of Ireland, Maynooth gave a lecture titled as to Irish Studies Centre, SEIS.

With beautiful pictures of the sites and monuments in his power point, Professor Comerford made a vivid introduction of seven iconic Irish sites and monuments, which are Newgrange, The Hill of Tara, The Rock of Cashel, The Walls of Derry/Londonderry, Castletown House, The Bank of Ireland, The General Post Office. These seven sites and monuments have witnessed respectively the primitive, the ancient, the modern and the contemporary Ireland. In each case, the professor gave a brief introduction on the history of the site and then elaborated on its symbolic significance in Irish history.

Students from Irish Studies Center also made active interaction with the professor. This lecture helped the audience have a better understanding of the profound and glorious Irish history and culture.
