An international conference on “Celtic Literature and Culture in Ireland” was hosted by Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE), co-organized by Shanghai Lu Xun Museum, and supported by Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai during 13(Conference Registration)-15 June, 2014.
Around 50 scholars from universities in Ireland, Singapore, Chinese mainland and Taiwan Province attended the conference, among whom were Wen Jieruo, translator of Ulysses; Li Jingduan, former president of Yilin Press; Professor Chen Shu, writer of Guide to Ulysses; Professor Cao Bo, translator of the classic Celtic saga Tain Bo Cuailgne; Professor Dai Congrong, translator of Volume One of Finnegans Wake; Mr. Austin Gormley, the Consul General of Ireland in Shanghai; Mr. Wang Xirong, director of Shanghai Lu Xun Museum; Professor Wang Guanglin, dean of Shanghai Normal University Foreign Languages College; Professor Wang Zhanpeng, director of Irish Studies Center in BFSU; and Dr. Pu Durong, director of Irish Literature Research Center in Shanghai Normal University.
