On December 8，2018, “National Academic Forum on the Irish Studies” was held at Dalian University of Foreign Languages. The forum was co-organized by Dalian University of Foreign Languages, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Henan University of Animal Husbandry and Economy, and Irish Studies Network in China. Scholars in the field of Irish studies from universities such as Shanghai Normal University and Jiangxi Normal University participated in the forum. Chang Junyue, Vice President of Dalian University of Foreign Languages, attended the forum and delivered a speech.

The topics discussed in the forum include Irish foreign relations, contemporary Irish literature, Irish economy, Irish higher education policy, and Irish dialect variation. Besides, there is a special session for students. Representatives of graduate students from Dalian University of Foreign Languages spoke on issues of Irish literature, culture, and teaching models of Irish Studies programs.

Wang Zhanpeng, director of BFSU’s Irish Studies Center, gave a keynote speech on Brexit’s impact on Irish borders and made a concluding speech at the forum. Professor Chen Li from BFSU’s Irish Studies Center gave a speech on “Contemporary Irish Literature”.

The Forum has successfully promoted academic exchanges and cooperation between Irish studies institutions in China, facilitated the development of regional and national studies, and enhanced the academic profile of the Irish Studies Centre.

爱尔兰研究中心参与举办“2018年爱尔兰研究全国学术研讨会（大连）”

12月8日，“2018年爱尔兰研究全国学术研讨会”在大连外国语大学举行。本次研讨会由大连外国语大学、上海对外经贸大学、北京外国语大学、河南牧业经济学院及中国爱尔兰研究学术网络共同举办，上海师范大学、江西师范大学等高校爱尔兰研究领域的学者参加了研讨会。大连外国语大学副校长常俊跃出席研讨会并致辞。

会议议题涉及爱尔兰对外关系、当代爱尔兰文学、爱尔兰经济、爱尔兰高等教育政策、爱尔兰英语变异等问题。此次研讨会还设立了学生专场，大连外国语大学研究生代表就爱尔兰文学文化以及项目依托区域国别课程的教学模式等问题发言。

   爱尔兰研究中心主任王展鹏就英国脱欧与爱尔兰边界问题作了主旨发言， 并做大会总结发言；陈丽教授作了题为“管窥当代爱尔兰文学”的发言。

   此次研讨会对于进一步促进国内爱尔兰研究研究机构之间的交流与合作，助推相关区域国别研究发展，提高爱尔兰研究中心学术影响力，具有积极的意义。
