On September 25, 2018, Irish President Michael Higgins visited Dublin University College to give a lecture on “Irish First President Douglas Hyde”. Professor of Irish at the University College Dublin, and later the first president of Ireland from 1938 to 1945, Douglas Hyde was a leading figure in the revival of the Irish language at the end of the 19th century and co-founded the Gaelic League (Conradh na Gaeilge).
Dr. Zhang Fang from the Irish Studies centre, BFSU is studying for a MA degree in Irish language and literature at University of Dublin. As a student representative of the School of Irish, Celtic Studies and Folklore, Dr. Zhang Fang met with the Irish President Higgins and took a group photo in the library of folklore.
